The short version: your family's diary belongs to your family. We collect only what the service needs to work, we never sell your data, we never show ads, and the only people who can see your child's diary are the people you invite.
Who we are
Babies Diaries ("we", "us") provides a private baby diary at babiesdiaries.com and through our mobile apps, where families record milestones, growth, health notes and photo memories and share them with invited family members only.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, name and optional profile photo, used to sign you in and show family members who added what.
- Child profiles — the name, date of birth, sex and optional photo you choose to add. Date of birth and sex are used solely to compute ages and WHO/CDC growth percentiles.
- The content you add — diary entries, photos, milestones, growth measurements and health notes. This content exists so we can show it back to you and the people you invite; we use it for nothing else.
- Technical basics — the minimum operational data needed to keep the service running securely (such as authentication tokens and server logs). We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.
How we use it
Only to provide Babies Diaries: storing your entries, showing them to the people you have invited, computing ages and growth percentiles, and sending the emails you would expect (invitations, password resets, account confirmations).
We never sell your data. We never show ads.Your children's photos and records are not used for marketing, profiling or training, and are never shared with anyone you haven't invited.
Who can see your diary
By default, nobody but you. Every other person sees your child's diary only after you invite them, at the role you choose (co-parent, editor or viewer), and you can remove their access at any time from Sharing settings. There are no public profiles, no search, no feeds — no way for a stranger to find your child's diary.
Where it's stored and how it's protected
Your data is stored with our infrastructure providers — Supabase (database, authentication and file storage) and Vercel (web hosting) — and is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access rules are enforced in the database itself, so even a bug in the app cannot show your diary to someone you haven't invited. Transactional email is delivered by Resend. These providers process data solely to run the service for us.
Children's data
Babies Diaries stores information about children because that is the point of a baby diary — but always added by, controlled by and visible to their own family. Accounts are for adults; children do not use the service themselves. Parents and guardians can edit or delete anything recorded about their child at any time.
Your rights and your control
- Access and correction — everything you have added is visible and editable inside the app.
- Deletion— deleting an entry, photo or record removes it. Deleting a child profile removes that child's diary. Deleting your account removes your data.
- Export— you can request a copy of your family's data at any time by contacting us.
- Withdrawing sharing— revoke any family member's access whenever you choose.
Retention
We keep your content for as long as your account exists, because a keepsake is meant to last. When you delete content or your account, it is removed from the live service and purged from backups on their normal rotation.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
